There’s a lot in the news today about short sales, what they are, and what they aren’t. And there’s even more hearsay. My experience is that most people have about half of the story right and the other half is what the neighbor’s uncle heard from his coworker who has a friend who did one of these…you get my drift.
Nationally, there is a program designed to help some homeowners who need to sell but owe more on their home than it’s current market value. The program is called Home Affordable Foreclosure Avoidance, or HAFA. I’ve taught a number of classes here in Northeast Mesa about HAFA, which was just released as a formal program on April 5, 2010, and can tell you that for those who qualify, it’s a tremendous step in the right direction.
Check out the video below and see a little more about HAFA. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email or call me at 480-694-0662. Likewise, if you know a group who would like to learn more about the program, I’m happy to speak to them. Groups I’ve worked with in the past include business leaders, entrepreneurs, church groups, and civic groups. I’ll be happy to help.
